Program Development - Test Clients
Seattle Sport Rehabilitation and Performance strives for improvement by regularly reviewing updates to the scientific literature surrounding the field of physical therapy and performance. As we work to incorporate new practices into our internal workflows, we may occasionally seek help from community members to serve as test patients to aid us in becoming more efficient, better understand potential barriers to clinical implementation, and other learn of considerations prior to in-clinic rollout.
Please view our online booking pages to explore areas in which we may be seeking volunteers. Volunteers are not financially compensated and will be required to clear basic screening criteria and sign an informed consent form prior to participating.
Concussion Baseline Testing
At Seattle Sport, we provide thorough, research-informed concussion baseline testing to help protect athletes and support safe return-to-play decisions. Using a battery of validated assessments recommended by Corwin et al. (2023), our testing captures an athlete’s unique cognitive, balance, and reaction time profile before injury, creating a critical reference point for post-concussion care.
Who Should Get Baseline Tested—and When:
Baseline testing should begin at age 10 and be repeated annually for young athletes.
For athletes participating in multiple sports, ideally baseline testing is completed at the start of each sport’s season for the most accurate monitoring.
For collegiate athletes and adults, repeat testing every two years is recommended.
